From indication to care

Treatment planning

Our treatment approach

Appropriate care begins with the right indication.

The appropriate management of an eye condition depends on the diagnosis, its stage, symptoms, imaging findings and each patient’s individual needs.

Treatment care includes clear information and personalised planning for conservative management, intravitreal injections, laser procedures and surgery.

Surgical procedures are performed in an appropriate setting and, where applicable, at a collaborating private hospital. The exact location is confirmed during individual planning.

i

No single treatment is appropriate for everyone. The choice is based on the examination and the findings in the individual eye.

Treatment options

Five different procedures, one shared principle: personalisation.

Safety & informed decisions

A clear discussion before every treatment decision.

No treatment should be presented as suitable for everyone. The indication, expected benefits, alternatives and potential risks are discussed after examination.

01Indication The specific problem the treatment is intended to address.

02Alternatives Other available options or continued observation.

03Expectations The realistic expected outcome.

04Follow-up How care continues after treatment.

The care pathway

From assessment to consistent follow-up.

01

Diagnosis

Clinical examination and the appropriate imaging or functional assessment.

02

Planning

Relating the findings to individual needs, alternatives and goals.

03

Treatment

Carrying out the selected procedure in the appropriate setting and at the appropriate time.

04

Follow-up

Reviewing progress and adapting the plan when required.

Assessment of outcomes

Follow-up is part of the treatment.

Progress is assessed through clinical findings and, when indicated, comparative measurements or imaging. The plan remains tailored to each patient’s response and needs.
